Hot dog! We’ve been racing toward this day for several years, and it finally arrived. And we are relishing in it. Get this: on November 7, 2012 we served our 100,000th hot dog during one of our NASCAR race car and hauler events. No kidding. We were in Macon, Georgia at a company that distributes the Big Green Egg, which is widely acclaimed as the original American designed ceramic cooker. Perfect for grilling hot dogs by the way.
Attending that day were sales executive Jake Roberts, our director of sales, Mike Renshaw and our Atlanta service center manager David Lee. Driver Joel Tuggle also stopped by to visit – Joel’s been a R+L driver for more than 20 years. But even though they had their buns in the right place, it wasn’t the right time. Instead, our friend Jennifer made the cut – or cut the mustard if you will – and was served the 100,000th hot dog. Jennifer received a certificate and a R+L racing jacket for her accomplishment! She was thrilled!
Our friends then demonstrated the Big Green Egg for us by making two peach and two blueberry cobblers to go with our hot dog lunch. It was an egg-citing and fruitful day.
And frankly, that’s awesome.
So even though it rained it did not dampen anyone’s spirits. In fact, several surrounding businesses joined us for lunch too, so we ended up serving 45 people!
Help us beef up this post by adding your hot dog puns in the comments below! Until then, we’ll ketchup with you on our next blog post.
