Nice jacket Kenny!

Recently, drivers Rick and Sherryl spent some time in Upstate New York with our NASCAR race car and hauler, stopping first in Syracuse to take part in a very successful Make-A-Wish Foundation fund raiser, benefiting children with life-threatening medical conditions. R+L Carriers donated several Pit Crew jackets to be auctioned off for the cause. You’ll see one being modeled here by seven year old Kenny, a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a speaker at the day’s events—>

Air Innovations, sponsor of the fund raiser, combined our visit and auction with a golf tournament in order to raise more than $9,400 for the charity!

Air Innovations and the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Air Innovations manufactures environmental control systems used in small refrigeration units. Businesses like aerospace, medical, military, homeland security, even NASA uses these devices! Air Innovations’ employees donated their time and money toward an auction and golf tournament to raise funds for the national Make-A-Wish Foundation, the nation’s largest wish-granting organization! We were very happy to be there and to be able to contribute to their cause!

Upstate New York and Niagara Falls

Upstate New York

From Syracuse it was on to Buffalo, home of the Buffalo Bills and close to Niagara Falls. The folks we visited there were interested in our Canadian shipping and warehousing services, as many businesses in this area distribute into Canada. Our sales reps are Canadian shipping experts, so they’re able to explain the details and the paperwork required. Here’s one of those reps, Andy, playing music with his band – Yes, our sales reps are multi-talented!

Then we headed to Tonawanda, NY, home of our Buffalo terminal. The Niagara River is across from our service center there – we were so struck by the falls and the river that we couldn’t resist taking lots of photos. The folks we visited there included a large distributor of swimming pools and supplies, a pesticide company in Oriskany and a reprographic and engineering rolls distributing company. The owner of the pesticide company told us he started his company in his bathtub! How’s that for entrepreneurial spirit?

Everyone had a good time during our visit, we met some wonderful folks, we had great weather and we added about 270 hot dogs to our count. For more photos and stories of our travels, become a fan of R+L Carriers on Facebook!
